Elections Matter

In today’s episode at BreakPoint, John Stonestreet relays some important news. He explains how President Trump’s Protect Life Rule, which will stop an estimated $60 million in federal funding to Planned Parenthood through Title X, will take effect immediately now that it has passed through the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Stonestreet is careful to point out how Title X funding has not decreased at all, but simply can’t be put towards abortions. The many other services offered by Title X clinics will continue running as usual.

Assuming the Rule continues in this same direction, one may begin to wonder how many lives will be saved because of it, even if it only holds until the next Democratic Administration.

We do not mean to make suggestions here about single-issue voting or supporting all of President Trump’s words and actions. Those may be questions for another time. We only bring you this news to make you aware of the impact our elections can have. This Rule will likely be a life-or-death issue for many in the coming months.

Stonestreet says:

“This brings me to three points. First, elections matter. Second, while I am grateful for the Trump Administration’s commitment to life, shame on the Republican majority in Congress that has consistently failed to de-fund Planned Parenthood. Governance by administrative rule will not protect the lives of the unborn in the long run.

And third, the fight remains: Not only to make abortion illegal, but also unthinkable.”
