Extracurricular

Summit isn’t only about classes. We plan plenty of fun adventures! Every afternoon you’ll have the opportunity to connect with others playing sports, games, going off-campus, or maybe taking a nap!

Activities on the mountain include the Incline Railway into Chattanooga, Rock City (with magical rock formations, and a stroll along the 4,100-foot Enchanted Trail to Lover’s Leap), dozens of miles of hiking and running trails, and Ruby Falls (the nation’s tallest and deepest underground waterfall).

Off-campus activities include white water rafting on the Ocoee River (with five miles of continuous Class IV rapids), paddleboarding, kayaking or canoeing on the Tennessee River, a visit to the Tennessee Aquarium (where you can enjoy playful penguins, touch a stingray, and marvel at otters, giant catfish, and sharks), or stroll across the historic Walnut Street Bridge followed by a picnic along the riverfront at Coolidge Park. There’s something for every interest at Lookout Mountain.

Students may sign up for these additional off-site activities once they arrive at our conference. Some of these activities require permission waivers to be signed by a parent. Please download and sign waivers on the Summit website for any activities you think you might want to do. Bring your signed waivers with you to the conference.
