God, Science, and Beauty
As an avid reader of Free Inquiry magazine, a Secular Humanist publication, I've learned over the years how much Christianity is disdained and science and reason are praised. So I decided to do a little open-minded research into the "science" scene to see if I could discover anything that could bury Christianity once and for all. Now I'd like to share exactly what I uncovered in my investigation.

Creating a Heaven on Earth
What do the following places have in common: Trumbull Phalanx in Ohio, Modern Times in New York, Brook Farm in Massachusetts, New Harmony in Indiana, United Order in Utah, Amana Colonies in Iowa, Oneida Community in New York, a kibbutz in Israel, and the Pilgrim's Plymouth Plantation? Each was an attempt to establish a form of heaven...

Barack Obama's 'Red' Spiritual Advisor
Barack Obama's 'Red' Spiritual Advisor
El Salvador has officially joined the Red regimes of Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Ecuador, and Bolivia. South America is turning Red, dark Red, and little is being said to alert North Americans of the encroaching Red plague. Perhaps that's because North America is moving in the same direction. The President of the United States has surrounded himself with socialists, and some of those closest to him have had a part in turning South America Red.

The Socialization of America
In retrospect, we may discover that 1883 was a most significant year. We're familiar with 1848 giving us The Communist Manifesto and 1859 giving us The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races...

Those Loathsome Christian Gift Boxes
What could be worse than including a Gospel booklet in gift packages for needy children? Nothing--at least to some parents of Stratton Elementary School children in Colorado Springs.

Why He's Not Emergent, by Someone Who Used to Be...
Todd Hunter has been through just about every expression of American evangelicalism that exists and has come to rest in the Anglican Mission in America (AMIA). His journey has included stops at Calvary Chapel, Vineyard, Allelon, the Alpha Course, and the Emergent Village. In the latest issue of Christianity Today, Todd was asked about his time with the emergent church...

Living, Breeding Mice Grown From Skin Cells
Cells from flakes of skin have grown into living, breeding mice, through a bit of biotechnological wizardry. This feat helps confirm that reprogrammed adult cells, considered a potentially convenient source of stem cell therapies, share the shape-changing powers of embryonic stem cells.

Archives from this Saturday's The Christian Worldview Now Online
This past Saturday, I sat in for David Wheaton as host of The Christian Worldview. Joined by two terrific guests, Ben Williams and Michael Craven, we discussed our culture's fascination with celebrity and the collapse of traditional marriage. If you missed the show, you can listen here....

Stonestreet Guest Hosting "The Christian Worldview" Radio Program
Tomorrow (7/11), I will be filling in for David Wheaton on his two-hour call-in radio show "The Christian Worldview." (David has a pretty good excuse for missing his own show: he's on his honeymoon to Scotland) In the lineup tomorrow are two timely topics and two great guests. During the first hour, we'll review what we can learn about our culture...

2 Articles on Marriage that Should Be Read
Time magazine's cover story this week, even amidst the mass hysteria about Michael Jackson, was about marriage ("Is There Hope for the American Marriage" by Caitlin Flanagan). Very well written, it argues that the destruction of marriage is having a brutal impact economically and socially on culture at large. Of course, we need only look across the Atlantic to see...
