Human Resource Manager

REPORTS TO: VP of Finance & Administration

CLASSIFICATION: FT/Exempt

PAY RANGE: $60,000—$74,000 DOE

Summary of Position:

The HR Manager position is responsible for Summit’s Human Resources systems and processes.  The systems and processes include staff acquisition, onboarding, performance management, benefits management, compensation management, payroll processing, government employment compliance, employee engagement, staff development, and offboarding.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Management

  1. Provide direct or through vendor recruiting services for the organization
  2. Oversee hiring of regular staff from initial contact through selection
  3. Provide holistic onboarding service to ensure new staff get off to a great start
  4. Ensure the offboarding process for staff appropriate in each circumstance

Compensation and Benefits

  1. Oversee compensation methodology to ensure consistency with Summit compensation philosophy
  2. Oversee both mandated and voluntary company benefit programs
  3. Process biweekly payroll and ensure payroll vendors’ compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  4. Management of compensation and benefit vendors
  5. Works with managers to develop clear job descriptions in a standard format
  6. Maintains organizational chart to reflect staffing and reporting changes 

Training and Development

  1. Ensure the Performance Conversation system is implemented and helpful to staff and managers
  2. Counsel individual staff and managers on training and development options available
  3. Support managers in the disciplinary process

Employee Engagement

  1. Manage annual employee engagement survey
  2. Work with managers to develop action plans and accountability
  3. Monitors organization culture for trends
  4. Coordinates monthly staff meetings

HR Compliance

  1. Ensure staffing practices are compliant with federal, state, and local laws and regulations

Additional Accountabilities

  1. Update Summit’s Community Handbook on an annual basis
  2. Maintain employee section of Summit’s intranet

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience with payroll and HRIS systems
  • Experience with benefit administration
  • Experience with HR procedures and policies

Working Conditions

Primarily in an office environment. Will be expected to travel as needed. Occasional weekend or evening work is expected.
