Summit Basecamp: Racial Unity

Summit Basecamp Racial Unity

Racial Unity
A Christian Response to Critical Race Theory

What is Critical Race Theory? Is it good, bad, or both? Is it misunderstood? Is it biblical? And, most importantly, what can we learn about race, justice, and unity from Scripture?

Join Lucas Miles, Jannique Stewart, and Dr. Jeff Myers as they walk us through these issues from a Christian worldview. If you aren’t sure how to discuss this complicated issue with your students, plan to attend this timely event.

Opening & What is CRT? — Jason Jimenez

This seems impossible: How to Pursue Racial Unity and Stand Against Wrong Worldviews at the Same Time — Dr. Jeff Myers

The conversation around critical race theory causes tremendous tension both inside and outside the church. The problems surrounding CRT cannot become an excuse for ignoring racial unity; nor can the pursuit of racial unity become the occasion for embracing false worldviews. What biblical principles can guide us? What practical steps can Christians take to speak truth in live, especially in the midst of hurt and hostility?

Progressive Christianity and the Rise of Critical Theory within the Church — Lucas Miles

Lucas unveils how liberal thought has entered America’s sanctuaries, exchanging the Trinity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the trinity of diversity, acceptance, and social justice. This in-depth look at church history, world politics, and pop culture will help you identify and refute the lies of the Christian Left, navigate controversial subjects such as abortion, gender identity, and critical race theory, and be equipped with a strong understanding of issues facing the church today and what we can do about them.

Counter Culture: Confronting CRT in our Culture with Clarity and Truth — Jannique Stewart

In this session Jannique provides a brief overview of where our culture is today with CRT and how to identify underlying themes of CRT in social media, and school currículum. A brief overview is given of how CRT creates division in society and in the classroom which undermines unity, peace and the timeless principles of equality upon which our country was founded. The audience will learn how to responsibly and accurately educate students about historical injustices from the past. They will also learn how to respond biblically when confronted with CRTs ideas on social media, at church, work or at school. Lastly, they will walk away with 5 Practical steps that teachers and parents can take to protect their students.

Is There Any Hope for the Future? — Lucas Miles
Our current cultural moment is full of chaos and deception. Denying reality causes havoc in people’s lives.  However, no political movement or militant group can ever put Jesus Christ back in the grave. Our hope in Jesus Christ is not a feeling, nor is it wishful thinking. Our hope is grounded in the reality of seeing things clearly through the perspective of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our current cultural moment is full of chaos and deception. Jannique Stewart was born and raised in Europe and after her family moved to the United States for her high school years, Jannique competed for an Illinois State Title in a National Pageant and chose two issues that she felt most passionate about: Abortion and the sexualization of teens. After winning her first title at the age of 15, Jannique began speaking in schools and churches on topics including Raising up a Pro-life Generation and Sexual Integrity—The New Sex Revolution. After graduating from Greenville Liberal Arts College, she entered the field of Pharmaceuticals and quickly rose up the corporate ladder to the position of Corporate Sales Training Manager. Jannique joined First Care Family Resources, the leading Crisis Pregnancy Centers in South Florida in 2005 as a ‘sexual purity’ speaker and educator for their Prevention Department. In 2010, Jannique became the Center Director for First Care’s Boca Raton Pregnancy Care Center, leading a team of women to provide counseling and ultrasounds to women faced with unplanned pregnancies and financial hardship.Jannique founded Love Protects in 2011, a ministry focused on biblical sexuality. She speaks to thousands of teens each year in order to help them connect sexual activity with abortion and to discover the importance of sexual chastity (purity).

Jannique’s experience as a Center Director for a Pregnancy Center, her vast experience speaking to teens, and her engaging speaking style, has led to many requests for her to speak about the unborn and the importance of respecting human life at pro-life rallies, churches, pregnancy centers, banquets, and schools around the world.
