Aaron Atwood

Mr. Aaron Atwood began working for Summit in 2011; he is a 1993 and 1994 alumnus of the Student Worldview Conference. Prior to his role as Vice President of Advancement, he worked for Focus on Family, Centura Health, and as a consultant to Christian ministries and other social sector organizations. He holds a B.A. in English from the University of Colorado and lives in Colorado Springs with his family. Aaron is an avid runner and golfer. He loves doing things that keeps his kids exploring Colorado.

Aaron Klemm

Aaron Klemm serves Summit as the Product Manager of Church and Consumer Products. He hails from a small town in central Illinois where he grew up on a family farm raising corn, soybeans, and Angus beef cattle. He graduated from Monmouth College with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Communication Studies. He first heard of Summit when he attended Summit’s student conference the summer after his junior year of college. Aaron then had the pleasure of serving on summer staff in Colorado the summer of 2015. He loves watching sports (mainly the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers) as well as playing sports, adventuring God’s great outdoors, and hitting the ski slopes! Summit has grown to become a huge influence in his life, and he enjoys getting to share that influence with others.

Andrew Winchell

Andrew Winchell joined the staff of Summit as its videographer in January 2016. After graduating high school in rural Wisconsin, he invested in a video camera and began traveling the country building experience shooting films for non-profits. His introduction to Summit was as a student in 2010, followed by a summer as a video intern. The challenge of leading a small group and learning to mentor young men was one that he quickly learned to enjoy. He returned for a total of 5 years of staffing before being hired by Summit full time.

Ben Keiser

Ben Keiser joined the Summit staff in 2017 as a customer service representative. He has earned an undergraduate degree in Business Management from Thomas Edison State University and Masters of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University. During his time in college, he had the opportunity to serve in youth ministry and teach Summit’s Understanding the Times curriculum at a Christian school. Ben is a 2015 worldview conference alumnus and was blessed to study with the Oxford Study Centre during the summer of 2016. Prior to coming on as full time Summit staff, he also served on staff at Summit Semester. In his down time Ben enjoys reading (especially history and theology), watching classic films, and adventuring in the great outdoors.

Dawn Schambach

Dawn joined Summit in 2015 as Senior Accountant. She started her accounting career in 1987 with a 10-year sabbatical to stay at home with her children. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from North Carolina State University (after completing the first three years in beautiful University of Hawaii). Her professional highlights include being a part of the accounting staff at Garden of the Gods Club, Nor’wood Development, Osborne, and Parson and Rosacker. Outside of work, Dawn fills her life by riding her bike, hiking, and living life with family and friends.

Dustin Jizmejian

Dustin Jizmejian is the Director of Summer Conferences and Summit Semester. Since 2003, Dustin has been working on Summit’s Summer Staff while pursuing an undergraduate degree from Biola University and a graduate degree from Denver Seminary (in the field of Leadership). After graduation from Seminary, Dustin took a position at Philadelphia Biblical University as a Resident Director, only to be called back by Summit Ministries to direct the Semester program in 2011. While Dustin directs programs he also speaks on topics ranging from God’s Will, The Christian Worldview and Pornography. Dustin and his wife Ruthann have been married for eight years and have four children, Rafferty, Cosette, Briar, and Trask and they call Manitou Springs their home.

Jason Graham

Jason Graham has worked for Summit since 2001. He is currently the Interim Vice-President of Publishing. Over the years, Jason has worked on a number of Summit’s most notable curriculum projects, including Summit’s high school and middle school curricula: Understanding the Times and Lightbearers. Jason holds a BS in Marketing from Oklahoma State University, an MA in Philosophy of Religion from Denver Seminary, and an MBA from Champlain College. He lives in Colorado Springs, CO with his amazing wife Rebecca and their three energetic kids: Katelyn, Caleb, and Madeline. On the weekends, Jason can be found hiking with his family, taking photos, or playing volleyball.

Jeff Myers

Dr. Jeff Myers is president of Summit Ministries. In the last 20 years Dr. Myers has become one of America’s most respected authorities on youth leadership development. Focus on the Family founder James Dobson referred to him as “a very gifted and inspirational young leader.” Evangelist Josh McDowell called him “a man who is 100% sold out to preparing the next generation to reflect the character of Christ in the culture.” Through his appearances on Fox News and other media programs, Dr. Myers has become a fresh voice offering humor and insight from a Christian worldview.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree and teaches leadership courses through CollegePlus and Belhaven University. Jeff and his family live in Colorado.

Jeff Wood

Jeff Wood joined the Summit team in January 2015 as the Vice-President of Finance and Administration. Jeff’s first exposure to Summit was through one his daughters who attended a Colorado Student Conference in 2002. Prior to joining Summit, Jeff served with Compassion International for 25 years in a variety of executive leadership roles. He holds a B.A in Economics from Wheaton College. Jeff and his wife, Carol, along with their adult children live in the Colorado Springs, CO area. They love exploring Colorado’s beautiful mountains either on foot or by motorcycle.

Jody Byrkett

Jody Byrkett has run the gamut of the Summit world. From student (2003 and 2004) and summer staff (2005-2010) she progressed to being a mentor at Summit Semester (2007) and year-round staff (2010). She has attended both Summit Semester and the Oxford Study Centre (formerly Summit Oxford) — where she studied the contrast between the French and American revolutions. Jody now works in the Publishing department as a shipping expert. When she’s not drinking tea, reading, or editing for theology and arts blogs, you can find her trekking across the mountains by sunlight or starlight.

Joey Amadee

Joey Amadee and his family have lived in Colorado Springs, CO since 2009. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Music from Bryan College in Dayton, TN. He has been working in the field of Information Technology for the last 12 years, building and maintaining computer systems and networks along with contributing to, designing, and writing software solutions and apps.  He has sold software to various businesses and continues support and maintenance through licensing deals for some of these digital platforms. Starting January 1, 2016, Joey accepted a position at Summit Ministries where he had previously been working as a contractor. He and his wife just had their first child — a baby girl — and they look forward to a continuation of serving Summit in the years to come.

Joshua Clupny

Josh joined Summit in December 2014. He attended Summit as a student during his third year of college (’04) and was changed forever by his experience at Summit. It was there that he realized the impact an individual’s worldview has on every aspect of life. He also was encouraged to know that God can and wants to use His followers in all areas of culture. He spent most of his life in New Mexico and came to know the Lord at an early age. He holds an Associate of Applied Science – Criminal Justice from Central New Mexico Community College, a Bachelor’s of Criminal Justice from New Mexico State University, and a Master’s of Business Administration from New Mexico Highlands University and hopes to continue his studies in the future. He and his beautiful wife, Olivia (another Summit grad), are raising their outgoing baby girl, Clara Jane, and love to travel and watch college sports (well, any sport) and see what God has in store for their family.

Krystan Clupny

Krystan grew up primarily in New Mexico and attended college at New Mexico State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications. Krystan attended a Summit Student Conference in 2005 and worked on Summer Staff in 2007 and 2008. After graduating in 2008, she moved to Colorado and joined the Summit team full-time and has served in a variety of roles including Assistant to the Business Manager, Development Officer, and now as Alumni Network Project Developer. Included on her “bucket list” is: swimming in Loch Ness, seeing a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, and traveling to Israel to see the historical landmarks of our faith.

Lynnette Han

Lynnette joined the Summit team in March of 2018 to serve as the Support Services Specialist. She graduated from Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science. From there she moved to China to become a teacher of English as a Second Language to University students who were eager to learn all they could about Western language and culture. After marriage, then off and on over the years she and her husband have lived and traveled in Asia where they enjoy the privilege of building life-long friendships as they continually seek every opportunity to point to the one true Light in this dark world. In her spare time Lynnette likes studying, making puzzles, doing arts and crafts, and singing. You will also find her traveling, camping and hiking every chance she gets.

Macki Jones

Macki came on board at Summit in early fall of 2015 as Curriculum Managing Editor. Her testimony and dramatic conversion from atheist and Darwinist to believer and creationist brings a unique perspective to the Summit team. She holds a B.A. in anthropology with an emphasis in archaeology, and an M.A. in curriculum and instruction. Macki has experience as a curriculum coordinator and middle school science teacher in Christian and charter schools here in Colorado Springs. In 2006 she accepted a position at ACSI as a curriculum designer and textbook editor. For the past several years she has also served as an adjunct professor and course developer for Colorado Christian University. You can find Macki on the tennis courts, playing volleyball, hiking, and exploring the beauty of God’s creation.

Marit Langley

Marit, a Minnesota girl transplanted to the mountains, graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA where she received her BA in Philosophy and Theatre and has served in various customer service positions for the past few years. She is honored to use her passion for serving others and use her God given abilities for His glory at Summit. She is an avid reader, puddle-jumper, coffee-drinker and musician who looks forward to putting down roots in beautiful Manitou Springs.

Mark Kloosterman

Mark Kloosterman joined the summit Staff in 2018 as conference coordinator. He has earned an undergraduate degree in recreation management from Western Michigan University as well as a master’s degree in Sports Management from Western Michigan University. During his college years he had the opportunity to serve an internship in central Utah with Tri- Grace Ministries. Mark has also previously worked as summer staff in Summits Tennessee location multiple years. Prior to coming on full time staff Mark served as the graduate assistant within the athletic facilities department of Western Michigan University. In his free time Mark enjoys being active in skiing, hiking, mountain biking and anything sports related. You will also find he has a love and passion for his high five shaped state of Michigan!

Molly Geiger

Molly Geiger grew up in Bismarck, ND. She has moved to CO in 2016 and loves it! Molly’s experiences and interest are as diverse as they are numerous… Whether it is butchering chickens on the family farm, working with orphans in Taiwan, volunteering as an EMT/FF or making wedding cakes, Molly has given herself quite the education through real life. She first attended Summit as a student in 2011, and then came on as summer staff later that year. She has worked as a kitchen supervisor, women’s staff director and now serves as summer program coordinator. Molly has a passion for serving and leading people (with unmatched amounts of energy and enthusiasm) and Summit is the perfect outlet for her to accomplish those goals. When Molly is not in the middle of running the CO program she is most likely reading a new book in a downtown coffee shop or traveling with her siblings!

Nathan Reitz

Nathan Reitz is the Property Manager at Snow Wolf Lodge in Pagosa Springs, where Summit Semester is held each fall.  After graduating with a BA in Biblical Studies from Colorado Christian University in 2006, Nathan happily discovered Summit through his wife, Shelly.  Shelly grew up around Summit, as her mom, Trudy Friesema, has been working for Summit since 1995.  Starting his work as a Maintenance Technician for Summit in Manitou Springs in 2007, Nathan was later offered a position as Assistant Property Manager at Snow Wolf Lodge in the fall of 2009. With the promotion to Property Manager in the Spring of 2010, Nathan and Shelly served as caretakers, retreat group hosts, and mentors for the Semester program until the summer of 2012. Following a short reprieve, Nathan is back with the Summit staff again. He and Shelly have a passion for foster children and currently have an 8-year-old boy named Eryn.  Aside from seeking to love children who are not being loved well, Nathan and Shelly care deeply about stewarding the lodge with excellence and investing in the college students who attend Summit Semester. The Reitz family’s love for the outdoors is what fuels them in their spare time and also keeps them enthused about living remotely in the San Juan’s of Colorado.

Roy Faletti

Roy Faletti joined the staff of Summit in 2011 as the Director of Customer Support and Sales. Since coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ in his mid teens at a ministry serving troubled teens, he has had a lifelong passion for reaching youth with the Gospel message. He has been involved in Christian education for over 23 years. He was the administrator of a church based Christian school in Idaho for 14 years, at which time he also served as a regional consultant for an educational ministry that specialized in differentiated education. Prior to coming to Summit, he held various leadership positions for nine years at a major Christian curriculum publisher where his primary focus was serving Christian schools. He and his lovely wife Mary have three daughters (Rebekah, Isabelle and Abigail), three male cats, who currently reside in Colorado Springs, CO.

Scott Northway

Scott Northway joined the Summit team in April 2017 as the Vice President of Programs. Prior to joining Summit, Scott served as the Partner Relationship Director for Children’s HopeChest. For over 22 years, Scott has been involved with creating experiential learning environments and materials for hundreds of students – with a focus on mentoring, coaching, equipping, and encouraging the younger generation to live their faith out loud! Since 2010, Scott continues to engage with high school students by serving on the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Southern Colorado Board of Directors and is the Huddle Leader for PRHS FCA (Palmer Ridge High School). Scott is all about building trusting relationships that matter and encourages students to find God’s design for their lives and then expand God’s kingdom in their area of influence. He believes that partnering with the local church is imperative for helping students to stay connected!

Scott has a diverse background in youth ministry, business management, partner development, discipleship, selling, ministry expansion, and business ownership. Key focus areas include 12 years of leading a father/son and father/daughter retreat ministry called Compass Ministries and partnering with other non-profits like YFC, YMCA, YoungLife, and DSM (Desperation Student Ministries) to name a few. He also enjoys serving as a volunteer assistant coach for boys’ and girls’ PRHS Varsity Soccer.

Scott and his lovely wife, Debbie, will be celebrating 25 years of marriage in September 2017, and they have two boys, Josh (21) and Matt (18). The Northway family likes to experience all things Colorado and doing bar-b-que and sweet tea are a hospitality must! Scott holds a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Georgia State University and formerly served as a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger with a LRRP Unit (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol).

Tosha Payne

Tosha Payne spent her youngest years in Iowa, then lived in the Chicago area, and has traveled extensively before coming to Colorado as summer staff here at Summit in May of 2011. A Summit weekend worldview conference came to her area when she was a teenager and she keenly remembers how hungry she was to take in those words that rang with truth and begged her to live life intentionally. Mission trips, work, and friends have taken her to faraway places, but her love for travel was ignited early on by visiting National Parks with her family. Tosha has a B.A. in Counseling and M.A. in Business Administration and now enjoys taking advantage of the adventures to be had in CO camping, hiking, swimming, skiing, skating, kayaking, and hosting visitors.

Trudy Friesema

Mrs. Trudy Friesema has worked for Summit since 1995. She works in the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and order processing departments. She grew up on the mission-field with the Navajo Indians in New Mexico and in various locations in Ecuador, South America. She attended Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, MN. She lives in Woodland Park, CO with her husband Bill and has two grown children. Her interests include reading, hiking, and spending time with her family.
