- Deductive Reasoning:
- the process of reasoning that starts with an accepted rule (or rules) and generalizes to a specific situation in order to reach a conclusion; if the starting assumption(s) is true, then the conclusion is absolutely certain (e.g. if 5+4 = 9 and 6+3 = 9, then 5+4 = 6+3).
