Digital Marketing Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Sales
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
PAY RANGE: 55,000-65,000 Depending on Experience
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Help the Director of Marketing and Sales develop, implement, and execute strategic, digital elements of the overall marketing plan for Program Services to attract potential customers and retain existing ones. Also, plays a strategic role in Summit’s overall digital marketing, engagement, and brand awareness.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and coordinate digital marketing efforts to create a clear and concise brand message through the main Summit website and other digital marketing expressions
- Manage outside agencies to promote digital partnership initiatives, analytics setup and tracking, and various digital marketing campaigns
- Assist with budget for digital marketing efforts and strategies
- Implement the digital strategy and enable the target audience to fully understand and engage with Summit in a meaningful way
- Lead and coordinate email and digital marketing aspects of Program Services
- Provide in-depth and strategic reporting on all digital marketing and customer journey performance
E-mail Marketing
- Own and implement Summit’s email marketing strategy in non-donor communications
- Serve as subject matter expert related to Summit’s email channel performance
- Manage Summit email communications development and delivery to constituents: create list segmentations, schedule, write, design, and optimize email communications
- Stay current on industry standards and best practices that informs testing and market research
- Maintain Summit’s email lists and Act-On segmentation taxonomy
- Manage and oversee the development of email templates and drip campaigns
Digital Marketing
- Establish and oversee a digital strategy alongside the marketing team to promote events, media, and Summit content on digital channels to maximize customer acquisition, engagement, and retention
- Direct the Summit Ministries main website strategy and implementation, including SEO/SEM
- Build lead generation forms and pipelines for marketing, programs, conferences, and sales teams that ultimately lead to conversion and digitally delighted customers
- Develop strategic online initiatives related to other Program Services requirements
- Lead digital marketing campaigns from the idea stage through to their execution and implementation
- Collaborate with other department heads and staff to accomplish digital marketing strategies
- Craft digital marketing strategies, design content to fit each digital channel, and consistently monitor the analytics to measure the efficacy of each campaign
- Oversee and coordinate a digital marketing calendar that delivers content aligned with the department’s objectives and attendee goals – (email, social media, events, outside conferences)
- Assist Marketing and Sales team in the digital development of general marketing items and communication pieces that are consistent with Brand Standards
Customer Journey
- Strategically frames, visualizes, and implements customer journey logic and user treatments
- Map digital elements and understand the full scope of the Summit Ministries customer journey, sales funnel, and constantly drives to improve and maximize resource and capacity utilization
- Leads and collaborates with external agencies to drive lead generation, analytics, and stewardship principles to digitally engage prospective leads and convert to Summit fans and conference attendees
- Nurture digital leads and prospects and manages lead scoring framework and optimize
- Establish email and testing rigor and framework to constantly learn, improve, and optimize
- Conceive and execute the digital pipeline of Summit’s customer journey to maximize retention and drive conversion which meet or exceed Summit’s strategic outcomes
- Develop and implement outbound marketing strategies with paid advertising to attract prospective customers and attendees
Promotional Partnerships
- Assist in the development, implementation, training/orientation, and use of partner support materials (digital and print) for regional and national partnerships
- Responsible for leading marketing and promotional projects with contractors, writers, designers, ministry partners, and printers to create digital and print pieces
- Work collaboratively with Program Services’ department teams to ensure strategic partnership wins and cross-promotional marketing efforts
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A strong faith in Jesus Christ, grounded in the Holy Scriptures, demonstrates integrity
- Understands and embraces a biblical worldview
- Adaptable to Summit’s culture
- Excellent writing and editing skills; Strong grasp of the English language in written and verbal form
- Able to pay attention, analyze, and synthesize current cultural trends, news, and phenomena
- Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and email design tools
- Proficient in WordPress or other Content Management Systems
- Proficient and/or experience using Act-On or other email delivery systems
- Understands best digital marketing practices and learn and adapt to new media
- Able to juggle multiple projects at once and consistently meet deadlines to exceed expectations
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to cooperatively problem solve alongside key stakeholders
- Team player, active participant, and willing to do what’s needed to further Summit’s mission
- Proficiency in Google Analytics
- Experience with SEO/SEM and UI/UX best practices
- Familiarity with HTML, Javascript, APIs, SQL Databases, and CSS preferred

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher preferably with a degree in communications, business, or marketing or equivalent experience. 3-5 years’ experience in communications or marketing, or digital marketing is preferred. A deep interest and study in Christian worldview topics is a must
- Familiarity with the general Christian audience
- Up to 10% travel may be involved
