Design and Procurement Specialist
REPORTS TO: Hospitality Manager
INDIRECT REPORT TO: Lead Design Specialist
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
PAY RATE: $25-28/hr DOE

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Enable greater efficiency for the Properties Group and provide quality control for Summit’s physical assets through furniture, fixtures, and supplies research, interior design decisions, assistance with exterior and landscape design, and procuring materials necessary for ongoing use of Summit’s main campus.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Property Development
Work closely with the Project Manager and Lead Design Specialist to provide interior design ideas on renovation projects for Summit buildings and grounds.
Coordinate with the Hospitality and Maintenance Teams to complete furnishing and decorating efforts for Summit’s offices, guest cabins, and rental properties.
Assist with developing and maintaining a campus landscape master plan, which includes participating in the upkeep and improvements of the flower beds.
Improve protocol for furnishing requests to include proper guidelines for budgeting, quality control, and balancing aesthetics with functionality.
Assist with interior and exterior painting projects as time permits.
Sourcing and supplier selection
- Research and identify potential suppliers, obtaining quotes, negotiating contracts, and placing purchase orders for materials and services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, managing performance, and resolving any issues related to quality, delivery, or payment.
Procurement Process Management and Collaboration
- Perform research and procurement of furnishings for the main campus and as needed for off-site programs.
- Work closely with Properties leadership and other departments to understand their needs and ensure timely completion of requests.
- Become familiar with the Manitou Springs Historic District regulations and guidelines to provide direction on appropriate procedures for building improvements.
Inventory Management
- Develop and maintain inventory tracking for property assets such as furniture, linens, decor, kitchenware, and other items necessary for maintaining housing and office spaces.

Education / Experience
- Associate’s Degree in Interior Design, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, a related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum two-years of experience in customer service.
