The Understanding the Times Series invites students to become informed disciples who don’t shy away from life’s biggest questions. Rooted in biblical truth and driven by lively classroom conversation, this series helps teachers create an environment where students are equipped to influence their generation for Christ.
Using Summit’s signature worldview framework, the series explores:
Each course centers around a textbook and Student manual, which serve as the primary class material. These textbooks offer opportunities for both in-class and assigned reading. The Student Manual (SM) is a full-color manual that includes discussion questions, in-class activity instructions, and assessment study tools. It is rich with Scripture, encouraging students to engage directly with God’s Word.
Every chapter includes short videos featuring scholars, authors, and subject matter experts. These videos expand on the textbook content, address common questions, and are designed to be just a few minutes long for maximum flexibility.
This sample lesson from Foundations—the first course in Summit Ministries’ Understanding the Times high school series—offers a hands-on look at how biblical worldview education comes to life in the classroom.
Designed for Christian schools and homeschool co-ops, Foundations helps students understand their place in God’s story while equipping them to think critically about the world around them.
With resources for teachers, interactive student materials, and built-in assessments, Foundations sets the tone for a full-year journey that’s academically rich and spiritually formative.
This sample lesson from Apologetics—part of Summit Ministries’ Understanding the Times high school series—gives a firsthand look at how students can be equipped to defend their faith with confidence and compassion.
Designed for Christian schools and homeschool co-ops, Apologetics empowers students to engage the world around them by addressing common fears about sharing the gospel, exploring the role of the Holy Spirit, and developing spiritual, intellectual, and emotional readiness.
With hands-on classroom activities, built-in assessments, and biblical case studies like Jesus’ conversation with the Samaritan woman, this lesson provides a powerful example of how Summit prepares students to speak the truth in love.
This sample lesson from Worldviews—the cornerstone course in Summit Ministries’ Understanding the Times high school series—invites students to examine the powerful ideas shaping our culture today and learn how to respond with biblical truth.
Designed for Christian schools and homeschool co-ops, Worldviews teaches students to recognize the patterns behind competing belief systems and understand how they influence everything from politics and psychology to ethics and economics.
Through hands-on activities like the Worldview Triangle Bible Study and interactive tools like the Worldview Quiz Show, this course equips students to compare Christianity to other leading worldviews—such as secularism, Marxism, Islam, postmodernism, and new spirituality—and clearly articulate what they believe and why.
