Honoring Dr. James Dobson’s Legacy

Dr. James Dobson has gone to be with the Lord and we at Summit Ministries want to honor his legacy by sharing the influence he had on our ministry and what we learned over decades of personal interaction with him.
In the late 1980s, Dr. Dobson sent his son Ryan to a Summit Ministries program. He later said that Ryan is the man he is today because of Summit Ministries.
When Dr. Dobson subsequently featured Summit Ministries on his radio broadcast, our ministry changed overnight. That explosion of growth now enables Summit Ministries to equip and support more than 70,000 young adults every year to embrace God’s truth and champion a biblical worldview.

Dr. Dobson has finished his race. We honor the trust he put in Summit Ministries and count it a privilege to pass the baton to the rising generation as they learn to stand for biblical truth in these times.

That trust changed a young man, as well as Summit Ministries’ growth trajectory. Through featuring Summit Ministries on his broadcast, Dr. Dobson multiplied Biblical Worldview training into thousands of students who have learned to think clearly, love deeply, and stand graciously in public life.
We intend to honor that trust now—by being ready and willing to train the next daughters and sons God calls to positions of cultural significance.

As we give thanks for his life and influence in helping Summit become a trusted resource to millions, we also take up the assignment his legacy leaves to us: prepare the next faithful voices God will call.
