Director of Marketing & Sales‬

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Program Services
CLASSIFICATION: FT/Exempt
PAY RATE: $87,000 to $109,000 performance-based increases accessed annually‬

Summary of Position

The Director of Marketing & Sales leads the strategic direction and day-to-day execution of Summit’s‬ ‭ marketing, sales, and customer support efforts. This role is responsible for building and promoting‬
‭ Summit’s brand, engaging target audiences, and ensuring exceptional customer interactions across all‬‭ programs and services. As a key member of the Program Services team, the Director helps shape the‬
‭ public voice of Summit and plays a collaborative role in cross-functional initiatives, including public‬ ‭ relations and donor communications.‬

Duties and Responsibilities

Public Relations

  •  Position Summit Ministries and its CEO as leading experts in training the next generation to‬ live out a biblical worldview.‬
  • Lead relationships with external PR consultants and media partners.‬
  • Oversee communications about products and services to ensure alignment with Summit’s‬ mission and messaging tone.‬

Marketing & Sales

  • Guide the Marketing and Sales teams with a clear vision, collaborative leadership, and‬ measurable objectives.‬
  • Develop and execute multi-channel marketing strategies that grow reach and engagement‬ with Summit’s target audiences.‬
  • Create and implement a sales plan that supports the ministry’s goals for all of the‬ department’s products and services.‬
  • Maintain consistent, data-driven practices through Summit’s platforms (CRM, ESP , website,‬ social media, etc.).‬
  • Manage a master communications calendar and provide final editorial review for external‬ messages.‬

‭ Customer Experience‭

  • Lead a high-performing Customer Service team that delivers excellent support throughout‬ the customer journey.‬
  • Develop customer service standards and implement tools and processes to ensure timely,‬ helpful responses.‬
  • Regularly gather and analyze customer feedback to improve programs and overall‬ engagement.‬
  • Maintain a consistent tone, style, and voice across all Summit communications—print,‬ digital, and in-person.‬
  • Ensure Summit’s website and digital platforms are optimized for user experience and aligned‬ with brand standards.‬

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with the CEO and Advancement team to ensure unified messaging and help with‬‭ promotion and fundraising efforts.‬
  • Foster a supportive team culture by actively helping other groups within the department‬ meet their goals through strategic marketing, sales, and customer engagement support.‬
  • Collaborate with Program Services leadership to provide market insights that inform product‬ development, positioning, and promotion.‬

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership in marketing

Working Conditions

  • Primarily in an office environment. Will be expected to travel as needed. Occasional weekend or‬‭ evening work is expected.‬
