Sales and Customer Care Manager

REPORTS TO: Director, Marketing and Sales
CLASSIFICATION: FT/Non-Exempt
PAY RANGE: $52,000-$64,000 year + Commission, Depending on Experience

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Sales and Customer Care Manager will lead the Sales and Customer Care teams and sell curriculum to Christian schools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and train the Sales and Customer Care teams
  • Direct and implement the sales and customer care growth strategy
  • Ensure clear and effective communications through team meetings, regular 1:1’s with direct reports to include ongoing performance conversations
  • Manage team budget, ongoing budget evaluation, and participate in annual forecasting

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Sell Summit’s school curriculum including Building on the Rock, Walking in Truth, and the Understanding the Times Series
  • Keep accurate records in Summit’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) of all contacts, leads, prospects, and customer information
  • Follow-up with prospects and customers regularly and on a timely basis
  • Present Summit Ministries and its products with the highest professionalism and accuracy

General Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain and improve procedures within the Sales and Customer Care teams
  • Promote and foster high standards of faith, integrity, and productivity throughout Summit Ministries
  • Assure consistent brand image and communication to all relevant constituents both external and internal
  • Demonstrates a hungry, humble, and smart attitude towards work responsibilities and leadership role
  • Travel up to 15-20% to attend trade shows, conferences, and other events to represent Summit Ministries

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong faith in Jesus Christ, grounded in the Holy Scriptures, and demonstrated integrity
  • Understands, embraces and is able to articulate a biblical worldview

  • Adaptable to Summit’s culture
  • Ability to clearly communicate sales and product concepts
  • Ability to close a sales opportunity, maximizing the relationship
  • Spirit of serving Christian schools and their mission
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Suite
  • Working knowledge of web based, CRM products, Netsuite, Sales Force, or similar
  • Advanced communication skills, organized and concise reporting techniques
  • Team player, strong interpersonal relational skills, active participant, and willing to do whatever is asked to further the Summit’s mission
  • Desire to delight and serve customers

EDUCATION AND OTHER EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, or related is preferred; or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales or related fields
  • 2+ years’ team leadership experience
