PARTNER RELATIONSHIP SPECIALIST

REPORTS TO: Director of Programs
CLASSIFICATION: FT/Non-Exempt

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Partner Relationship Specialist (PRS) is a growth-oriented position for the Programs Team. The right person will exhibit an enthusiastic, take-charge customer service attitude and will have a passion and skill set for helping our partners and customers experience service excellence plus with Summit Ministries. The Partner Relationship Specialist is the primary contact for all parents and students, as well as church, school, and ministry partners in a specific ministry region. Key responsibilities will include the day-to-day facilitation of strategic partner development activities and proactive relationship building with Summit Partners, Champions (advocates), and lead/or youth pastors in partner communities. Through a consultative approach, the PRS strives to grow, maintain, and retain partner relationships, provide comprehensive partner support for vision casting, and answer conference and registration questions about all things related to Summit Ministries.

The PRS is proactive with providing resource support, partner launch kits, and training tools and resources, while leveraging reports and other resources to lead and empower Summit Partners and Champions. The PRS will also help parents and students to have a clear understanding of how to answer the question, “why Summit?” Ongoing interface with our partners and customers is vital to executing excellence. This is a high visibility role, heavily cross-functional and reports directly to the Director of Programs. The PRS must enjoy working in a fast-paced and relational office environment. The office location for this position is at our headquarters campus in Manitou Springs, Colorado.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with students, parents, partners and their teams through regular communication (e-mail, phone, social media, and skype) and move relationships
  • Assess current partner environment, team skill sets, experiences, previous fundraising and engagement activities, community development strategies, and other partner relationships
  • Collaborate with Program team to create strategic plans and to implement visionary change and impact
  • Evaluate situations and engage in ongoing dialogue with students, parents and partners. Move prospects forward in the process to become partners or customers for Summit Programs
  • Provide regular coaching and training for Partners in areas related to sponsorship, fundraising, travel, communication, and retention
  • Must manage and communicate with multiple partnering relationships according to expectations
  • Analyze and report on partner initiatives, forecast for strategic changes, and report on key metrics
  • Input and manage all partner and customer data within NetSuite (CRM) and Configio online registration tool
  • Liaise with customers to solve issues, communicate needs, and create synergy
  • Help guide and motivate Champions to consistently communicate with their church or school community partner(s) and individual sponsors
  • The Partner Relationship Specialist (PRS) is ultimately responsible to ensure quality communication of relevant information and frequency of same
  • Leverage online training and marketing resources, growth campaigns, and social media tools
  • Support on-boarding new partners and Champions through proactive training, consulting, and leading
  • Effectively communicate with Programs team and other Summit departments
  • Ensure consistent quality control when assisting registrants, Champions, and Partners
  • Manage and maintain Partner Endearment activities routinely and coordinate efforts with Programs team to ensure short-term and long-term success (relationship-building activities)
  • Committed to professional development of self
  • Meet regularly with Director of Programs and team to evaluate progress, provide support, and work toward success plans

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS DESIRED:

  • Must be a committed Christian with a deep commitment to the mission of Summit Ministries, be grounded in the Word and understands and embraces a biblical worldview
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred for this position. Prior experience with Summit student conferences, summer staff, or Summit semester is a plus
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the following disciplines: 1-2 years of partner development or partner/account management experience
  • 1-2 years of leading project development plans and coaching toward success is helpful
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience helpful. Applicants should be strategic thinkers with amiable personalities, positive outlooks, and expert communication skills
  • Organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also beneficial
  • Detail-oriented — must be able to be strategic and tactical within PRS role
  • Possesses critical thinking skills and creative problem resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to build and to maintain good relationships with clients, partners and Summit staff
  • Ability to train and to encourage customers / partners
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be a team player (internal and external relationships)
  • Must be customer focused (confidence in supporting and directing roles)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media, and Internet/database literate. Familiar with and/or willing to learn CRM tool and/or online registration tool within first 2 months
  • Possess effective task management skills, relationship management skills to follow through, and have the grit to motivate others to take action
  • Maintain a fun, creative, collaborative, and compassionate outlook. Comfortable in various roles: lead, follow, support, and encourage
  • Enjoy regular interactions with peers and other Summit departments
  • Effective Pipeline Management skills. Possess the ability to develop a daily, weekly, and monthly call plan as required (think and act proactively)
  • Should possess a growth mindset with the ability to embrace challenges, think in new directions, take calculated risks, and learn from mistakes
  • Self-motivated and proactive problem solving with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a highly organized and efficient manner, meeting deadlines within a fast-paced environment. The proven ability to assess current situations and coach to success initiatives is critical. The Partner Relationship Specialist will possess confident interpersonal skills and a proactive customer engagement mindset
  • The ability to manage and to strengthen multiple partner relationships to meet and to exceed growth goals is a must
  • Team player, active participant, and willing to do whatever is asked to further the mission of Summit Ministries and is passionate about casting vision and enabling others to do the same
  • Although not likely, up to 5% travel may be involved during Summit conference seasons, typically May through October.
