The Legacy of Summit in the World of Arts and Entertainment

It was a summer day in 1994 and Matt and his girlfriend Amy sat on the front porch of the Grandview Hotel, preparing for their Student Conference to begin. At that moment, Matt had no way of knowing that Summit would change his life and he, in turn, would change the lives of tens of millions in the years to come.

This year, 25 later, Matt serves as CEO of Sight and Sound Theater.

Matt is giving back to students in hopes of taking their Summit experience to the next level. Students who attend Summit’s Student Conference in Pennsylvania have been given free tickets to attend the world-class production of “JESUS” in Lancaster Pennsylvania.

I still remember the teaching, the classes, and Dr. Noebel and other faculty. I could see the passion and authenticity of the speakers as they taught.

Matt was raised with a strong Christian faith and had a relationship with Jesus but didn’t realize how big of a “bubble” he had been in, sheltered from what was happening outside of his community.

I thought I had my faith figured out, I had a great family and church. But Summit was an eye opener and helped strengthen my foundations. The teaching about mainstream culture and understanding the influence of the enemy changed my life.

After leaving Summit, Matt graduated from high school, attended a Christian college, married his high school sweetheart, Amy, and started his career at Sight and Sound productions. After years of dedication, Matt was promoted to CEO of the company and uses his training from Summit to lead the staff and create a culture of truth and relationship with guests who attend these world-class productions.

The work we are doing is important and we have the ability to reach a lot of people from many different backgrounds. We love everybody. We want everyone to know the truth, and that means we need to be willing to build relationships and be authentic.

For more than 40 years, Sight & Sound Theatres® has been bringing Bible stories to life on stage. With locations in Lancaster, PA, and Branson, MO, more than a million people come each year from around the world for this uplifting, one-of-a-kind experience.

Every production is a spectacular show with a meaningful message. Edge-of-your-seat action meets heartfelt drama on a panoramic stage, featuring an exceptional cast, special effects, massive sets, and live animals – on stage and in the aisles.

“I was astounded from the moment the production began. I have seen Broadway-quality theater productions in New York and London, and the staging, effects, and professionalism of Sight & Sound blew me away. I am proud of Summit-graduate Matt Neff for his leadership and excited about the partnership with Sight & Sound that will give Summit-Pennsylvania students a vision for influencing culture through arts and entertainment.” Jeff Myers, President of Summit Ministries said.
