Bethany Clawson (Session 7)

Summit Student Conference Bethany Clawson 2014 Colorado Session 7“Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.” Isaiah 49:13

The mountains declare His handy works!

As I drove mile after mile and getting closer and closer to the mountains, I was just praising God that he made it all! And that he gave me a chance to come back for another year at Summit! God is truly great! Arriving back in Manitou Springs, Colorado made my heart leap for joy!

I went through Summit last year, session 7. Being an alumni this year has been a beautiful, yet interesting experience. This year has been more laid back for me than last year. At first, I got here, and it was weird…because of all the different people, which made it a whole new community and atmosphere.

But I have been meeting some great caring people that I wish to continue getting to know after I head home this week. It feels great to be back in the swing of it all again—to just be able to refresh everything that I learned last year and to confirm it all has been a wonderful thing!

This year I really feel like God has been showing me what a gentle heart looks like, how to show unconditional love to people, and His faithfulness. It has been a beautiful experience.

I enjoy coming to Summit and learning every day. Something I really admire about Summit are the leaders, staff, and the worship. Everyone is a hard worker who strive to make you feel loved for who you are and make you feel welcome! They truly bless me every time I come to Summit, whether I am here just to visit, to be a student, or to volunteer. I adore the worship—that you can soak up the presence of the Lord and praise him over and over. New meanings come every time I worship.

I am thanking the Lord for another beautiful, encouraging, and uplifting year at Summit — praise the Lord!

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
