"You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.” —Deuteronomy 16:18

In November of 2008, the people of California voted to approve Proposition 8, a ballot measure that would establish marriage in that state to be only between one man and one woman. This past Wednesday, after almost two years of legal challenges by same-sex marriage proponents, one federal judge (a homosexual appointed by President Bush) overturned the will and votes of seven million Californians by deciding the proposition was unconstitutional.

Shortly after this landmark decision, President Obama’s second appointee to the US Supreme Court, Elena Kagan, was confirmed by the US Senate for a lifetime seat on America’s highest court. Not surprisingly, both of President Obama’s appointments to the Supreme Court are Constitutional deconstructionists.

We will ask two questions on The Christian Worldview this weekend: How will same-sex marriage impact this country and what happens to a country when its’ judges make unrighteous judgments?
