ChristianityToday.com recently featured a must-read article by Chris Armstrong of Bethel Seminary entitled, "The Future Lies in the Past: Why Evangelicals are Connecting with the Early Church as They Move into the 21st Century." So by "early church" does he mean the New Testament Book of Acts and the Apostle Paul's letters to the various churches? Well, not exactly. Why are Evangelicals going back to this period in the church (2nd to 6th Century)? What are the positives and negatives of doing so? Is an understanding of these "church fathers" and embracing of their liturgies and traditions really the key to the church’s future?

God Appoints Non-Christian Leaders. Should You Vote for One? [Guest: Sean Hannity]
"Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God" (Romans 13:1). The inspired Word of God is clear: working through His sovereign means, God appoints all governmental authorities, which would include Christian and non-Christian political leaders. With this in mind, should a Christian ever vote for a non-Christian candidate when a professing Christian candidate is available? The Republican primary season has brought this difficult and contentious question to light causing great division and ill-will amongst Christians. James Dobson, evangelical leader of Focus on the Family, stated earlier this week that he "could not and will not" vote for John McCain for President but would he vote for Mormon Mitt Romney or former evangelical pastor Mike Huckabee. Just today, the day after Romney dropped out of the race, Dobson endorsed Huckabee. The question remains, why didn’t Dobson support Huckabee earlier in the race? Could it be that Christians can vote in good conscience for a non-Christian candidate over a Christian candidate? Join me this weekend as we answer this question on The Christian Worldview.
