College Credit

Students attempting college credit at the Tennessee campus will receive credit through Bryan College (Dayton, TN). The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to awards associates and bachelors degrees. Titled “Contemporary Worldviews,” this course is transcripted as Philosophy 111.

Note: Each institution is the sole determiner of credit acceptance; therefore, it is recommended that you check with the Registrar of your chosen college before you apply for credit.

Tuition Information

These non-refundable fees are in addition to the tuition for the summer program sessions. Payment in full is required when you submit your application. Checks should be made out to Summit Ministries.

  • 2 Credit Hours = $250
  • 3 credit Hours = $350

Note: Applications mailed to Summit before your arrival WILL NOT be accepted. Students must register on-site.

College Credit Requirements

There are two options to this credit program; each student’s choice is determined solely by the syllabus he/she uses. These options are mutually exclusive. Changes regarding credit details cannot be made after the application is submitted.

To earn 2 hours of college credit, students need to:

  1. Submit application and tuition (non-refundable $250) to Summit Ministries before the first Friday of your session (DO NOT mail before you arrive).
  2. Write a 1–2 page worldview essay.
  3. Pass a comprehensive exam over the lectures presented with at least a 70%.

To earn 3 hours of college credit, students need to:

  1. Submit application and tuition (non-refundable $350) to Summit Ministries before the first Friday of your session (DO NOT mail before you arrive).
  2. Write a 1–2 page worldview essay.
  3. Pass a comprehensive exam over the lectures presented with at least a 70%.
  4. Write a 15-page research paper and mail to the supervising professor within 30 days of the end of your session. The Research Paper Requirements can be downloaded here.

Grading Scale

Bryan College uses the following grading scale:

93–100% = A | 90–92% = A- | 87–89% = B+ | 83–86% = B | 80–82% = B- | 77–79% = C+ | 73–76% = C | 70–72% = C  | 69% or below = NC

Note: The final grade will be determinded by your institution. They may use Bryan’s grading scale, their own grading scale, or just transfer in credit as either “pass” or “fail.”

Applications will be handed out at the beginning of each conference session. Your tuition is due in full when you turn in your application at your session.
