‘You Lost Me’
Need a graduation gift? Stay tuned. For the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.
Every May, I speak at a handful of graduation ceremonies. Most of the time, the kids seems so solid. So I wonder — why do statistics say so many will struggle with their faith once they leave home for college or a career?
Many have written about this — and a lot of it is unhelpful. But this weekend on BreakPoint this week, I’ll talk with two guys who can help you help the next generation. Dave Kinnaman, president of the Barna Group and author of the book You Lost Me has done the most extensive, balanced research available on why students leave the church.
A key finding is that students desperately want and need adults who are invested in their life. In other words, the best graduation gift an adult can give a student is their time, attention, and leadership. That’s why I’ll also talk with Jeff Myers, President of Summit Ministries who will offer tips on how we can connect with, and influence the next generation. Listen on radio or at Breakpoint.org. I’m John Stonestreet.
