True Love Week

These Ivy-Leaguers are fighting back with a radical message: true love.  I’m John Stonestreet, and this is The Point.

Last November my colleague Chuck Colson talked about Undergraduates for a Better Yale College, a new student group aimed at countering the school’s sex-obsessed culture. A few weeks ago they won a major victory by getting the infamous Sex Week kicked off campus.

Well Sex Week is back, minus the porn stars and adult film companies that led to the protests. But Undergraduates for a Better Yale didn’t stop there. They’ve gone on the offensive and created a counter event called “True Love Week.” Their goal? “[T]o convince Yale students that the healthiest, happiest romantic lives take place in the context of stable, chaste relationships.”

Student organizers say the first True Love Week drew a lot of controversy, including demonstrations during lectures and accusations of homophobia, of all things. But their message is spreading, because it’s simple and it’s true: men and women were not made for casual, soulless sex, but for commitment and lifelong love. Visit to find out more about True Love Week. I’m John Stonestreet.
