According to Nancy Pearcey, we all need well-functioning “baloney detectors.� This is good advice as we enter election season. In fact, according to Joe Carter of FirstThings.com, we need good discernment right now. Last week, the New Yorker’s Ryan Lizza wrote a hatchet piece on presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann. This isn’t surprising – she’s a huge target right now. What is surprising is the direct falsehoods Lizza wrote about Francis Schaeffer, a top Christian thinker of the 20th century who influenced hundreds of others, including Chuck Colson, David Noebel, and Nancy Pearcey.
