Sexperiments
We need more than therapy. We need understanding. I’m John Stonestreet, and this is The Point.
In a recent Christianity Today article Matt Anderson points out that it is becoming quite popular these days to speak of sex from the pulpit. Bed-ins, advice columns, and books dealing with ifs and how to’s are more common than they used to be, and the reason given is typically that the church has been silent for too long about such an important issue.
I agree that this is an issue the church has avoided, but we need more than therapy in a culture of sexual brokenness. We need a proper understanding of God’s purpose for marital intimacy, how He designed it in relationship with the purpose of marriage itself and its role in procreation and building society.
And we need to pay attention to how we talk about it also. The means can affect the message. Sex is so over-sensationalized, that when we resort to similar ways of speaking about it we undermine the proper message that the culture desperately needs to hear. Sex as a sacred gift of God is about more not less than our emotions and pleasure. For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.

What will hapepn is the Republicans will put together a plan. The Democrats will twist and manipulate the plan until it looks nothing like the original Republican plan. The Republicans will vote against this new plan and be blamed for being obstructionist. We’ve already seen it hapepn and we will continue to see it hapepn for as long as oBama is able to continue tricking the Republicans into believing he wants to hear them.
