Making Fake Love and War

Making Fake Love and War

I can’t believe this is that controversial. For the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.

This week on BreakPoint, I shared the findings of a new book by psychologists Philip Zimbardo and Nikita Duncan. The book is called “The Demise of Guys,” and it makes the case that a generation of young men are rewiring their brains through addiction to video games and internet pornography.

Basically, the instant stimulation offered by digital sex and digital combat makes guys less able to handle real life that demands more effort, and it handicaps them in school, work and relationships.

But when I posted the article on FaceBook, the defenders of video games came out to fight. But this isn’t about bashing video games, it’s about young men wasting so much of their time, money, and effort on grand adventures of irrelevance or immorality. There’s way more to live for and we need to help guys foster better habits. Come to The, and I’ll link you to some resources that will help you help the guys in your life. I’m John Stonestreet.
