Jesus Hates Dead Religion

There are some things Jesus hates. From the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I'm John Stonestreet with The Point.

At this year's National Prayer Breakfast, Eric Metaxas famously brought the house down. This often happens when this former writer for Veggie Tales, voice fo BreakPoint and biographer of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and William Wilberforce speaks. He even had the president of the United States laughing out loud. But Eric's speech was more than funny. It had a profound message: that Jesus exhibited a profound hatred for empty or dead religion.

Christ taught not only that our personal lives match our words, but that faith demands we courageously face cultural scenarios that deceive or victimize our neighbors. This is not a common message in a culture that asks us to relegate our faith to our private lives and keep it out of the public square, or in churches that teach Jesus loves everything. Jesus spoke Truth in love. Eric's speech is now available as an ebook. Visit ThePointTRadio.org to find out how to pick up "Jesus Hates Dead Religion."

For The Point, I'm John Stonestreet.
