Experimenting on Children
Our children are paying for our social experiments. From the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, I’m John Stonestreet with The Point.
The cultural debate on sexuality is nearly four decades old now, and has only intensified to the point that so called “sexual freedom” now includes not only behavior, but sexual identity itself. But as we continue to pretend there are no consequences to our choices, we should keep our children out of it.
Unfortunately, not everyone agrees. The Associated Press recently reported that a growing number of doctors now offer body-altering hormones and gender-reassignment surgery to children — some as young as four — whose parents believe they were born in the wrong bodies.
The report contains stories of pre-teens who allegedly inform their parents that they want to change genders. So, doctors and hospitals have set up “gender identity clinics” to administer hormones and surgeries which block puberty and permanently alter a child’s body.
With so little clarity and so much sexual brokenness in our culture, we should at least protect our kids from the consequences of our social experiments. For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.
