According to psychologist Dawn Hobbs from the University of New York Albany, “Approximately 92% of the 174 songs that made it into the Billboard Top 10 in 2009 contained reproductive messages.� In other words, an overwhelming majority of popular music these days contains references to sex. According to Hobbs, this is nothing new -- data shows that lyrics from music dating back hundreds of years included references to love, sex and marriage.
