Knights of the Summit Round Table

Knights of the Summit Round Table

Hullo readers! We have reached the final week here in our Semester experience at Snow Wolf Lodge. Our main faculty, Dr. Bauman, has already given his final class, and the rest of our week promises to be fairly ordinary as we mentally prepare ourselves to enter into the regular world again - most of us much more knowledgeable than our…

About the Men…

About the Men…

There’s a famous saying, “boys will be boys.? But here at Summit Semester, it doesn’t quite cut it. Here we say “boys will be men,? and we say this with all sincerity. It continued at lunch with orange chicken (inspired by our very own Hawaiian, Chris). But dinner...wow.

The Grand Canyon…Summit Style

The Grand Canyon…Summit Style

At 5:45 I walked out of my room, sleep still in my eyes, backpack on my shoulder with clothes and two books packed, hoping that I had enough warm clothes for our overnight trip to the Grand Canyon. As we loaded up the vans, guys in one, ladies in the other, we realized there wasn't enough room in the guy's…

Chess and Excellence

Chess and Excellence

If I had to pick one word to describe what we're learning at Summit Semester, it would be excellence. Excellence in academics first and foremost, but also in prayer and reflection, in building friendships, in working, and even in our sports and games. And one of our games is a good analogy for what learning to think is like.

Farvest Hall

Farvest Hall

At the end of one of our toughest and longest weeks (thirty plus hours of John Stonestreet's merry cultural stereotyping and Bauman's usual excellent battering), came the alumni weekend and the annual Farvest Hall. Farvest Hall is the yearly Harvest festival we have here at Snow Wolf Lodge. The name came about because one of the past students just couldn't…

Today’s Youth

Today’s Youth

Hello, my name is Steven Forester and I am a student of Summit Semester. Take a moment to stop and think about the youth of the nation. Try to imagine what they do with their lives, how they talk to each other, how they respond to information, and how they interact with authority. Once you feel that you have a…
