Session 4 | Day 8a

Session 4 | Day 8a

So far the only way I can sum up my experience at Summit is this: life changing. Understand I mean that with full honesty, even though it may cliché the emotional stir of the moment. Since entering Summit, I have been introduced to some of the finest Christian speakers in America who not only have a passion for the subjects on which they speak but also hold a fervent desire for the students to take the knowledge presented to them to develop a biblical understanding of our time.

Today is day 7 of Session 4, and each day seems to come and go far quicker than the previous. As with any new surroundings, the first day offered prime opportunity to gain new friendships that would be strengthened over the next two weeks. For me, as well as many others, it has been so inspiring and encouraging to see everyone’s different backgrounds and how they walk with God. Even though the majority of students come from different states, we all hold to the same belief of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Hands down one of the best times I have had so far at Summit is praise and worship in the evenings. The music is appealing to all because it mixes contemporary worship with favorite hymns. Naturally some songs are more familiar than others, but what I notice is a group of devout believers whole-heartedly praising our Savior.

With less than a week left though, a key question remains: What will I take home with me and actually apply? My answer is simple: as much as possible. From the lecture on “Family” by Jeff Myers to John Stonestreet’s lecture on “BioEthics,” I have learned so much. I will do my best not only to share this information with others but also to apply it to my own life. The world uses deceitful wording and persuasive phrases to offer answers to our questions that have no substance and leave us empty. At the bare minimum one should walk away from Summit knowing that there are answers and God has them—we just have to search and use Biblical discernment to find them.
