Session 3 | Day 5
Today started off with John Stonestreet . He gave an eye opening lecture on bio-technology and the lack of ethics in that filled. It was quite enlightening considering the fact that I have a very limited knowledge and understanding of bio-technology. We talked about a variety of things such as what bio-technology is, what are some challenges to bio-technology, having ethics, and how to live in a bio-technology world. One point I thought was really good is that the area of bio-technology affects everyone in one way or another and every Christian should be on top of the issue.
After our morning break the Rev. Allen Crippen had a lot to say about where America's founding fathers got the ideas for the constitution. I had never heard this before and a lot of the other students hadn't either, but apparently our forefathers took their ideas from the Magna Carta. It was really neat to learn where they got their ideas from, but I had a hard time staying awake during the lecture.
During the afternoon we had sports time. We play a variety of different games and some of us don't like sports that much so we just grabbed a book to read. After supper John stonestreet had an open forum where he took on the controversial issues of todays culture and the difficult questions of the students.
Next Doc gave his nightly lecture on worldviews . This time we looked at secular humanism and how it has worked its way into every area of life except the church and the family. Then we broke up into our small groups. In my small group we talked about lies young women believe and somehow got onto the topic of predestination which is one thing I am still looking into. Tomorrow will be another wonderful and exciting day at the Summit. I hope you had as good a day as I had. God bless you and good night.
