Friday, June 22 (Session 3, Day 6)
The Summit has been an amazing opportunity to learn and grow in my faith while having fun and meeting many new people. Today I had the opportunity to learn from incredible minds such as Eric Smith, Frank Beckwith, and Sean McDowell. Mr. Smith spoke about scripture and how we are to unlock truth in our lives. Beckwith’s session was titled “The Pluralist Game”. In it, he outlined the role of morality and God’s role in determining morals.
During free time I had the opportunity to explore the town. A few friends and I spent the afternoon walking around town and visiting the different shops and restaurants. We ate at Marilyn’s, a delicious pizza shop downtown. It has been amazing to meet so many new friends that are just as passionate as I am about growing in their faith.
In the evening, I had the amazing opportunity to hear from Sean McDowell, who I have really come to admire over the last week. Tonight he spoke on the issue of pornography, and not only did he answer questions and give advice to anyone and everyone, but he also broke down the scientific processes of the mind relating to the subject. His insight on each of the topics he has spoken on so far has amazed and intrigued me. Sean really makes you think about the bigger picture and makes you realize how much you still have to learn. My experience here at Summit so far has been great. I feel so honored to have the opportunity to meet and learn from so many wise and faithful people.
