Session 2 | Day 1
As Summer Staff, I find myself in a position much envied by the students from Session 1--I am still at Summit, while they are now at home. The beginning of a new session brings with it an excitement and enthusiasm as I look forward to meeting new people and making new friends. It also begets feelings of sadness and weariness as my newest friends have all just left, and the students into whose lives I have poured myself and my energy are gone. I guess this is the story of life--memories of the past and hopes for the future.
"Today" began around 3:30pm for me. You see, I watch the night, and I took full advantage of the change in sessions to catch up on some much needed sleep. After all, Sunday is to be a day of rest, is it not? Somewhere around 100 students came in today from all over the United States for two amazing weeks of worldview training. Some will love it, some will hate it, but all will have the opportunity to know their God in a deeper and more fulfilling way than they have ever experienced Him before. I think that is what I love the most about Summit Ministries--the opportunity it gives students to make their relationship with Jesus Christ real in every area of their lives.
So, here's to the students of Session 2, 2008! May your relationship with God grow deeper, richer, fuller, and exceeding abundantly above all that you could ask or think in these next two weeks.
