Session 1 | Day 2

Blogger Avatar

Watching the sun rise over the Rocky Mountains this morning nearly took my breath away. It is not as easy to overlook the astounding beauty which surrounds me here in Colorado as it is back home in Kalamazoo, Michigan. These next two weeks are going to be incredible as I will be witnessing this display of God's wonder and majesty every day.

I finished looking at the mountains and headed down to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast with the rest of the students, cooked from scratch by the kitchen staff. After I finished the meal, I went down to the auditorium for the first lecture of the day. The speakers here are truly gifted. I was reminded of many important truths today and gleaned a few new grains of wisdom as well.

One quote, made by Dr. Robert B. Linden, has really stuck out my mind, "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." It was important for me to be reminded of this truth since it can be tempting to use our Biblical knowledge like a baseball bat and whack people over the head with it.

With all the natural beauty, good cooking, and wonderful teaching, I can't wait to find what else will God have in store for me and all the other amazing students here over the next two weeks!
