Session 6 | Day 12

O my Goodness, we have had such an amazing time so far here at Summit! These past two weeks have been packed with info, and I know as much as people don't want to go home, at the same time people are excited to go home and digest/ go over everything we've learned. Yesterday evening was the Sudan Auction - where Summit staff were auctioned off to students, for such things as, 'breakfast in bed', or 'getting your laundry done, for free', deals. Our main objective was raising money for Sudan and we raised well over $1000.00 (between all 180 of us). Today after morning sessions we went out back to the picnic tables during lunch and waited for our "Fantastic 5" to come with our Sonic run. (That was one of the auctioned off deals. Along with 15 loads of laundry - free, peanut-butter pies, and pieing the "Fantastic 5" with whipped cream.)

Well, after Sonic, and our final session for the day, we all piled on to the 4 buses and went on our way to the park for our 6 hours of games and picnic at the park. There were many games going on the numerous fields. Volleyball nets were set up and an Ultimate Frisbee Game was going, soccer was being played and a few guitars where out. Personally, I played Ultimate Frisbee, and my team (with the red jerseys) lost. The weather was somewhat cloudy, and we could see lightning and hear thunder so we all went up to the pavilions for dinner which consisted of hot dogs and hamburgers. After thee amazingly D-lishous dinner, the 'Didactic Dozen' and some others, put on blue jerseys and challenged another group to a game of Ultimate Frisbee. Needless to say, my team was down, 6-2, and we came back, to tie it at the end. It was a good ending to a great team spirited game.

We got back to Summit around 8:00, and a few of us hopped in the shower. (umm, yummy..) Around 8:30 we had our worship leader for the week, Josh Bales, come up and lead us in worship. When he finished with his 1st set, there was a testimonial time, and a lot of very awesome people came up and shared their lives with us. It was very cool, and bold of them. - Thanks for sharing Guys/ Gals!! After testimonials Dr. Nobel shared some of his testimony, and after some seriousness we, as a group, prayed, and were then dismissed. I honestly can't really say I had/ have had a favorite event/ speaker or what not here at Summit, the whole experience has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who has put so much into Summit Ministries, it's been, and will continue to be a most blessed ministry..
in Christ,
