Session 4 | Day 8
Finally, a break day! After a week of unrelenting lectures by intellectual giants such as the famous Dr. Noebel, Kevin Bywater, and Mark Cahill it was relieving to have a day of rest. Sort of.
My morning started at 5:15 am as I was awoken by the lovely staff here at Summit. Breakfast soon followed and at 6:00 am a group of fellow Summiters and myself were loaded onto two busses and were soon headed toward the Arkansas River near Buena Vista, CO. Two hours later we arrived at Noah's Ark rafting company where we were fitted with all the gear and equipment required for an intense day of navigating the 40 degree white water.
We got to enjoy some of the Lord's most beautiful scenery, spend some serious bonding time together, and get wet in the process (I fell out of the boat). We got back to Manitou around 3:00 pm which gave us plenty of time to relax before the worship started at seven.
Worship was great, as always, but tonight it was a little different as it was lead by a local pastor Jeff Anderson who gave an inspiring service which dealt alot with sin, it's nature, and how to beat it.
That was followed up with some world view training by Dr. Noebel, and an interesting, extremely long, video on today's Islamic extremists titled, Obsession. We got out at 10:45 pm and I need to finish this up because it is past curfew so please excuse the lack of detail.
That about sums up a "slow" day here at Summit. You might refer to your individual student about their day as everyone's activities seemed to vary quite a bit.
My experience here at Summit has been amazing to say the least. I have never been in a place where so many people are on fire for the Lord, and it is awesome to see how God is working in our lives. I could not express enough gratitude to all the people that have made this adventure possible.
So thank you. Everyone.
Mom and Dad,
I love you guys!
