Summit Ministries

Session 3 | Day 9

I came to Summit Ministries with an open mind. My parents sent me because I will be going to a secular college and they want me to have a strong foundation for the faith that I possess. I am so glad that God put this ministry on their heart because I have learned so much already, and we still have one week to go. Like Dr. Noebel says, "We're going to have more fun than a human ought to have." I strongly encourage any parent to send all their kids to this ministry, because their lives will be changed forever.

The sunburnt faces and the slow walk of people entering the classroom this morning indicated the type of day we had yesterday. The 14 mile Pikes Peak hike left us all with sore calves and the river rafting trip gave everyone red noses. Needless to say, it was kinda hard to stay awake during the sessions, but I think we all made it through. Our main speaker today was Kevin Bywater who spoke on Pseudo–Christian cults and understanding the New Age. Our scripture verse for the day was Proverbs 23:12, which states: "Apply your heart to instruction and your ears to words of knowledge."

Once we all made it through the morning, the afternoon came with the options of going paintballing, retaking the Bible exam, or participating in any other miscelaneous free time activity that Summit "allows." About 30 of us students had the privelege of going paintballing. It was a blast and we have plenty of welts to show for it. Dinner is always at 5 so that was delicious. Let me see…what am I missing? Oh…the Manference and the Feminar how could I forget. I have no idea how the Feminar went but the Manference was amazing as us guys just shared what was on our mind. I don't think I need to go into any more detail. We finished the day off with small groups, and now I must end this day because it is "lights out" time. Once again, I love it here, and thank you Mommy and Daddy for your desire for God to be in my life! God Bless.
