Session 3 | Day 3

The second full day at Summit! This morning I woke up much earlier than I'm used to in order to try to fight for one of the 9 or 10 showers available for the 90–some girls here. Victory was achieved and what was even more awesome, the water temp wasn't 20 degrees!

Sessions were all incredibly deep and thought–provoking; the first one today was about thinking critically about the worldviews presented in current movies. Movie clips are always great during lectures—especially when you're desperately trying to stay awake—but it's even more awesome to actually be aware of the messages the directors are trying to give. Other sessions were about pluralism, the meaning of meaning and other amazing topics intended for us to bring us to think for ourselves. If you want to know more, ask the kid you know who's here, and make sure they're telling you what they really think!

In the afternoon we went to the park for our first Sports Time. I initially wanted to play frisbee with everyone but it ended up not happening because the people I was with were being poor sports. So we ended up finding a gravelly dirt path that went up a hill and getting ourselves very far away from where everybody else was. It was kind of startling to see how far away we were and that the path was not making a turn back anytime soon. So we turned around and found our way back to the park and laid in the grass catching our breaths (the altitude really gets to you here).

Tonight at small groups (about five to each group) we shared our testimonies; it was really good to hear how God has been working in the other girls' lives and how everyone's story is different.

So, Summit is awesome, and we're all really glad to be here... God's been teaching us a lot, and hopefully by the end we'll have added up a bit more to our smarts. =D
