Session 2 | Day 9
Greetings from the Summit! For those of you who are reading this, you are already aware of various aspects of teaching that we are receiving. Summit has been equipping its students to be the responsible and strong leaders of tomorrow for several years now and has certainly not wavered from that goal in any way, shape, or form. 2 Tim 2:15 states
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."
Today began with a devotion on the gravity of unconfessed sin in the believer's life. Dustin, our speaker, emphasized the importance of accountability and openness to conquering the sin nature and withstanding temptation. Following the devotion, J.P. Moreland taught on the philosophical arguments against the Secular Humanist and
Postmodern worldviews. Lunch was followed by a discussion on the Christian heritage of the American government and judicial system by H. W. House. Both of the speakers provided excellent information on their respective subjects.
At about 7:30 this evening we all gathered for an amazing time of worship together. It has truly been refreshing and encouraging to be in a group of young people with a true desire to praise the Lord! After worship time, Dr. Noebel continued to expound upon the six major worldviews that permeate our culture today.
I am a second year student at Summit, and am so blessed to be able to build upon the knowledge I gained last year. Summit has provided an excellent basis for me as I have been attending a liberal college. I pray that all those students who are currently attending Summit will come away well equipped to handle what the secular world might have in store for them.
