Session 2 | Day 7

Hello, friends and family! As most of you know, here at Summit the speakers and staff have helped thousands of students gain wisdom and understanding by teaching them what a Christian's worldview is, as well as showing them what secular worldviews teach. Wisdom and understanding's value and importance can be found countless times in the Bible; the following verse is a perfect example: "Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding; for her proceeds are better than the profits of silver, and her gain than fine gold." Proverbs 3:13,14

As a student here at Summit this past week, I have immensely enjoyed learning from the wisdom of people far more educated than I, and I've found that each day has been as good, if not better than the last!

This morning began with a devotion on prayer and thankfulness, and then continued with Chuck Edwards giving a three part lecture about Postmodernism, and Worldviews in Music/Movies (in everything give thanks through prayer and supplication… LOOK UP). We (the students) also heard from Dr. Charles Asbell on the Inspiration of Scriptures.

After these speeches lunch was served and the entire student body as well as much of the staff went to a park for sports time and a cook–out from 1:15 until 7:30 pm. While at the park students have the option of playing volleyball, basketball, tennis, ultimate frisbee (my personal favorite), or sleeping under a tree.

Once back from sports time we watched a video on the influences of modern Jihad Terrorism in the world. This movie, entitled Obsession, seems to have greatly impacted all of the students tonight. It was a fabulous eye–opener to the dangers of ignoring the true threat extreme Islam poses.

One quote of Edmund Burks' which was repeated to us tonight was, "All that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." I would like to challenge you to be sure that you are not a good man doing nothing—allow the Lord to work though your life and He will use you in ways that will impact all those around you.
