Session 2 | Day 4

Hey! It's news from Manitou Springs once again! It's been tough sleeping for only 6 hours, but the speakers are CAPTIVATING!

Mark Cahill, a former basketball player for Auburn University, spoke very convictingly on witnessing. He told many stories about him witnessing to people from all walks of life including Tiger Woods, Charles Barkley, and Michael Jordan. He uses things around him to spark a conversation on "What will happen when you die? Do you know where you would go?" Every two seconds, two people die. The students here at Summit must be on fire to witness to everyone whether at the mall, an evolution–promoting museum, or a coffee house. I personally was convicted. I will definitely try to set goals on witnessing–maybe even one person a day. Cahill showed photos of people falling from windows of the World Trade Center on 9/11. The point he wanted to convey was that you should never skip an opportunity to witness because you never know what will happen. He's been my favorite speaker so far! All of them have been INCREDIBLE!

We also heard from Chuck Asay, a cartoonist for the Colorado Springs Gazette. He drew cartoon strips or showed his pre–made cartoons during his lecture. They ranged from issues such as abortion to Islamic extremism. He could draw cartoons in 5 seconds. He was so talented! It just reminded me how much America needs more right–wing fundamentalist, Christian cartoonists.

All the students took the Bible exam today. There were 180 questions ranging from where to find Bible verses to what son of Noah did Jesus descend from. It was rather difficult, but it really showed me how little I pay attention to the important details in the Bible.

For break, I ascended Red Mountain with some friends! It was steep and the altitude made it difficult, but the view at the peak was gorgeous! We could see Manitou Springs from one side and Colorado Springs spread out in front of us on the other. It was wonderful to be refreshed by God's creation after hours of classes.

I love praise and worship! Tonight we sang "Heart of Worship", "In Christ Alone", "Forever", and several others. We all sing so beautifully together! It is rather uplifting! I love it when girls and guys switch off stanzas. It's sounds beautiful!

We watched an excellent video on how national accountability to God is very important. Taking God out of public areas was never part of the Founding Father's Constitution!

Summit has really convicted me and opened my eyes to so many different areas.

God bless!
