Session 2 | Day 3
Well, today my roommate's phone alarm went of at 5:45. I was planning on sleeping in until 6:45 that didn't happen, though I did get some great shots of the sunrise on the mountains!
Today we had Kevin Bywater speak about Islam and the Gospels. I was really excited about the Islam session because in St. Cloud we have a lot of that group living there. He spoke on how we can evangelize to them without shaming them. Shaming might sound weird, at least that what I thought at first except Kevin explained that if you are in a debate with a Moslem you can shame them if they "lose" the debate. So he said that if we keep a calm voice and don't try to put them down that will get a long way.
Next Dr. Frank Turek spoke—he had 4 points:
–Does Truth Exist?
–Does God Exist?
–Are Miracles Possible?
–Is the Bible True?
My favorite point was, "Does Truth Exist?" Some of the things I wrote down include:
–The law of non-contradiction is undeniable. Even those who deny it use it!
–Opposite ideas cannot both be true at the same time and in the same sense.
Around 2:00 we went to a HUGE park and we had some fun playing soccer, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, football, and just hanging out. I myself played some ultimate frisbee, which was very intense! It was a close game throughout, but my team won 10—8! Thankfully we didn't have any injuries (or any major injuries!) it was a perfect day too: the sun was out and there was a slight breeze (which we thanked God for an hour into the game!).
Anyway, I had a wonderful day and had some interesting discussions with some of my friends and learned a WHOLE bunch!
I absolutely love it here!
In Christ
