Session 2 | Day 12
Well, today started off with another 7am wake–up. Though this time with the clanging of a pot instead of that infernal bell. Following another excellent breakfast, we made our way to the classroom to begin the day. Unfortunately, Doc Noebel left last night to speak at a home–school conference in Denver so we missed him and his Bible hour this morning. Del Tackett, however, spoke in his place on America's Christian heritage. He was followed by Jeff Myers who spoke on leadership.
We had sports time and another cookout today. I spent most of the time playing tennis and watching the speed–volleyball game (volleyball on maté). After dinner we got a group of 10 together to play on old game called "Big Boody,"which I rocked at, oh–by–the–way. Finally the time came to head back to the Summit so we all loaded on the bus and headed out, so here I sit writing this very post.
Now that you have heard about my day, time to talk about the week in general
This is the paragraph where I voice random and completely disconnected stuff I loved this week. First and foremost, I'd like to give a shout out to the amazing kitchen staff, which has kept us all quite well fed by slaving in the kitchen for hours. Thanks guys, we really appreciate it! Also, white–water rafting was sicky–sicky–gnar–gnar on Sunday, thanks to our schweet guide Dan. Among other things were: J.P.'s hair, Doc Noebel, Judson & Russel's bedtime story, Matt's dumb jokes, and maté.
Ok, just got back from the testimony time and have to finish this up in 20 minutes before lights out.
I'm really looking forward to reviewing my notebook and being able to apply everything I learned these couple weeks on my campus. I'm most excited about being an effective influence in the lives my fellow students. One thing I realized from small groups is that I really have not been as involved as I should be at my college. I am hoping to take what I learned at the Summit and apply it in my life.
Well, it's currently 11:05 and my brain stopped having coherent thoughts at about 9. So I guess I might as well tell you who the heck I am. Hi, I'm Peter Cox, I'm from Maryland, best known for Chesapeake Bay blue crabs and horse races. I like a whole lot of sports including football, tennis, soccer, paintball, airsoft, etc I'm a rising college sophomore at Anne Arundel Community College. I am currently pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science. Hi Mom. Sleep, overtaking brain functionssss. I'm too tired, I'm going to bed now, Judson is vainly trying to get people to get in bed, so here I go. Goodnight.
