Session 2 | Day 10
Another day at Summit ticks by, bringing us closer to the end. Everyone seems sobered by the fact that we can not stay here forever. New friends are preparing for separation and tears are already being shed in anticipation of returning to their old lives in the real world. But every tear is worth it, because I don't think that a person here would trade their newfound friends and experiences, for the pain of separation. Everyone here has been truly blessed by the atmosphere of encouragement in which they are surrounded. The staff are truly a blessing, and every one has a heart for the Lord that continually challenges all the students to grow. Every kid is learning and changing, and I can already see a difference in many of them even in this short amount of time.
Today, after an amazing breakfast of pancakes, bacon, cereal, and fruit, the lessons started. Dr. Noebel spoke on "Reasons to Study the Bible," during his daily Bible hour. He was followed by Dr. J.P. Moreland, Dr. Wayne House, and Dr. Michael Bauman, who spoke on Postmodernism, Law and Government, The Meaning of Meaning, and The Problem of Pain respectively. I learned so much about the importance of understanding the intent of a statement, and the Relationship of church and state. We also watched a video on abortion, which was hard to watch and saddening, but very compelling and informative.
Our sports time got rained out today, so we came back to the hotel and entertained ourselves by singing Disney songs and playing cards. It was great fun! The kids here are amazing, they really know how to make the best out of a situation. We ended the day with praise and worship, which, as always, was amazing. I can't wait for the next four days of summit!
